No Town Council Meeting AGAIN???? What's a poor resident to do?
I have looked on several of the "Sharpsburg" sites and have not been able to find an answer to a question I have. I have also looked through the minutes of the town meetings and cannot see where policing has been discussed. Has there been talk? Is it a case of funds or is it conveinience? I live in Wellsburg Station and it takes 20 - 30 minutes for Coweta to respond to calls as serious as my house,and on another occasion, my car being broken into. It would be a great service to have have in Sharpsburg even if we/they were more of an Urban Police Squad.
Thomas, I did not get a notice that you had left a note. No, Sharpsburg does not have a police department and does have to depend on the county to respond. Getting policemen is probably a long way off, if ever. The town has only one paid employee, the Town Clerk. The Mayor is paid only $100 a month. If you have another problem do let the Mayor know. I feel sure they do contact the police department. If there seems to be a cronic problem, especialy, you need to let the town officials know.
Have you ever considered a neighborhood watch? In some places they are very effective.
